Nintendo said on Saturday that preorders for the Switch 2 will open in the US on April 24. The pricing of the new gaming system is still $449.99. Nintendo did point out that some accessories would cost more, though.
Nintendo postponed the start of preorders for the eagerly awaited Switch 2 until April 9 in order to evaluate the effects of the strong “reciprocal” tariffs that US President Donald Trump proposed earlier this month.
China is where tech giants like Apple and Nintendo produce their goods. Both China and Vietnam produced the first Switch. Trump has put a 10% tariff on Vietnam and a 145% tariff on China. The United States has imposed a baseline 10% levy on imports from all nations, including Vietnam, after Trump announced a 90-day moratorium on Vietnam’s 46% tariff and penalties on dozens of other nations.
